Graduated from the Kazakhstan Agricultural Institute (majoring in Economics).
1993-1997, worked in the National Bank of Kazakhstan (Economic Research and Prognosis Department).
Headed the National Pension Agency and worked as a Vice Minister of Internal Finance Affairs.
2003-2004, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan.
Headed the State agency on regulation and supervision of financial markets and financial organizations.
In mid Nov Bolat Zhamishev was appointed as a Minster of Finance of Kazakhstan.
