Graduated from Kazakh State University, named after S.M. Kirov (Law School).
1981-1982, Legal Consultant at Zhambyl Oblast Bank.
1982-1986, worked as a Lawyer in Zhambyl City Executive Committee.
1986-1992, served as an Inspector, Head of Department for Assessment and Distribution of Residential Space for the Almaty City Executive Committee.
1992-1994, Head of Legal Department in Almaty City Administration.
1994-1995, Deputy of Supreme Soviet, Deputy Chairwoman of Supreme Soviet on Economic Questions.
1995-2005, Head of Kazakhstan's Central Election Committee.
April 2005, appointed Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
